Looking forward to E3 2007
Ok so its about that time of the year where the coming years best games are showcased for all the world to see, and although this year it won’t be open to the public, i’m sure they’ll be enough pics, vids and stories on the net, to satisfy even the most avid gamer.
So what shall we expect to see this year, ill breakdown the best games from each of the platforms to wet your appetite that little bit more.
Unreal Tournament 3
The next installment of one of the most successful franchises to hit the PC over the last decade. UT3 uses a totally new engine, has new game modes and new vehicles. Apparently this game is said to make Gear of war look ugly despite using the same engine. I, for one will be eagerly awaiting any new snippets of info regarding this game.
Halo 3
Another sequel, or is it threequal, to the defining game of Microsoft’s Xbox, The initial game was ground breaking with breathtaking graphics, and made non xbox owners look on in awe, will the latest edition do the same and set the 360 apart from the rest? only time will tell.
GTA IV
The GTA series is probably one of the most popular cross platform series of recent times, and despite the fact that this has only been confirmed on the PS3 and 360 it will still make a earth shattering impact on the gaming world at large. In addition to the trickle of trailers released as of late, what will Rockstar bring to the table at E3?
Call of Duty 4
Despite the previous incarnation of the otherwise successful series, receiving mixed reviews, COD4 looks promising as far as anyone knows about it, which is not alot. It’ll wont be based in WWII as the previous games have, instead it will be set in more modern times, based mainly around Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Metroid Prime 3
Nintendo has been keeping us looking forward to this since the release of the Wii, and now should be the time they finally tell us more about it. The questions are endless, and knowing Nintendo the answers will be few. This could well be one of the defining games of the Wii, will it live up to the hype.
More games that are due to be shown at E3 will probably include the Wii Star Wars game, probably what everyone was thinking about as soon as they learnt about the Wii Remote, The new Killzone, FEAR and Metal Gear Solid games, and probably a couple of teasers of the Turok and Lost games.
Hopefully without the public, the insiders will be privy to a bit more than the usual amount of information given by the developers , which should end up with the public having more goodies than previous years
