Lost? You need a cow…
The University of Duisburg-Essen used thousands of Google Earth images of Britain, Ireland, India and the USA to confirm their theory that cows stand in a North / South orientation when resting or grazing. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about this is why? Why spend money on research to determine IF cows prefer standing in a certain direction. Why spend copious hours viewing satellite maps of fields full of cows, and noting “ooohhh, that one’s facing north!”.
But the question here is could there be another explaination for this mass alignment of cattle? Could it be related to which direction the wind is blowing? Could it be some ancient instinct bred into them from their herders constantly checking which way is north to help them navigate their way? Or is it simply some kind of joke being played on us by millions of cows who think “hey, this’ll mess with them. Make us look all smart and wise. Might stop them from eating us…” Who knows.
What I do know is that I keep remembering back to that ominous song “Cows with Guns”, and can’t help thinking the cows aren’t just standing in the same direction, they are standing in military form. Their armies are building and will one day take over the world as we know it!
Or I’ve consumed too many mad-cow infected hamburgers… you decide…

Clearly the East/West facing cows were the ones kidnapped by aliens for experimentation. More likely it has something to do with the way the sun rises and sets. It is very important to cows to get an even tan.
