Sega is about to release an epic compilation of classic Sega Genesis games for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The compilation will include over forty five games as well as unlockables and extras including some popular arcade games.

Tiles in the 45+ compilation include Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, Columns, Streets of Rage, Streets of Rage 2, Streets of Rage 3, Altered Beast, Golden Axe , Golden Axe II, Golden Axe III, Ecco the Dolphin, Ecco II: The Tides of Time, Vectorman, Vectorman 2, Phantasy Star II, Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom, Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium, Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master, Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, Comix Zone, Super Thunder Blade, Alien Storm, Beyond Oasis, Bonanza Bros, Decap Attack starring Chuck D. Head, Dynamite Headdy,E-SWAT, Fatal Labyrinth, Flicky, Gain Ground, Kid Chameleon, Ristar, Shining in the Darkness, Shining Force and Shining Force 2

Not only is the list already huge but it will also have unlockable arcade and Master System games. The unlockable extras will include Golden Axe Warrior and Phantasy Star for SEGA Master System. Also included are Sega arcade games Alien Syndrome, Altered Beast, Congo Bongo, Fantasy Zone, Shinobi, Space Harrier and Zaxxon.

The game will include a graphics filter to make the graphics appear smoother. There will be an option to turn it off the filter for fans that prefer the pixelated look.

The amount of solid content in this collection is amazing especially considering the money Sega could be making off just releasing these titles on Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network and other game download services. The game is set for release February 10 of this year. This is a must get for any fans of the 16 Bit era!
