The credit ratings agency, Moody's has updated its credit ratings of several European nations.

It has placed negative outlooks on the ratings of the UK, France and Austria.

The ratings of Italy, Spain and Portugal have been downgraded.

In a statement Moody's said the adjustment reflected their "susceptibility to the growing financial and macroeconomic risks emanating from the euro area crisis."
