(FOXNews.com) - Liv Tyler is starring in a new "philosophical thriller," but intellectual curiosity won't be the reason many filmgoers seek out the movie, FOXNews.com reported Thursday.
Tyler, 33, gets naked for a steamy love scene in "The Ledge," her first nude scene since 1996's "Stealing Beauty."
"I was like, 'No way, sorry,'" Tyler said after reading the "Stealing Beauty" script calling for her to appear au naturel.
"Of course the thought of showing your body parts is a terrifying thought -- I find it terrifying. Let alone the whole world. And I fought it until the very end."
Tyler, the daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, eventually lost her argument and lost her top in Bernardo Bertolucci's coming-of-age film.
In "The Ledge," Tyler plays a former drug addict and wife of a fundamentalist Christian, played by Patrick Wilson.
Tyler's character takes up with an atheist, played by Charlie Hunnam, who threatens to jump off a high-rise building.
The film opens in limited release on July 8.
