Toss Sri Lanka chose to bat v India
Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details
Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat in a game they must win to entertain hopes of winning their first bilateral ODI series against India at home since 1997. Kumar Sangakkara has been ruled out of the series due to a fractured finger and Lahiru Thirimanne took his place in the XI. The left-arm seamer Isuru Udana didn't have any success in the previous two ODIs and he was replaced by Nuwan Pradeep, who makes his ODI debut.
India, who are 2-1 up, made one change. Manoj Tiwary was picked, but not in place of the misfiring Rohit Sharma. Instead, it was the legspinner Rahul Sharma who had to make way as India, who, MS Dhoni said, were looking to chase, picked an extra batsman in the line-up.
