Ryan McLaughlin, Aaron Hughes and Pat McCourt have been ruled out of Northern Ireland's friendly against Finland at Windsor Park on Wednesday night.
Liverpool teenager McLaughlin has a hip problem, Fulham defender Hughes is suffering from an ankle complaint and Celtic ace McCourt has a groin injury.
Niall McGinn, who had been called into the squad, has also been forced to withdraw with an ankle injury.
Will Grigg, Josh Carson and Sammy Clingan have been added to the panel.
Clingan had been omitted from the original squad as he is currently without a club after leaving Coventry City.
David Healy and Grant McCann were also notable absentees.
Defender McLaughlin had been included in the panel for the first time.
The 17-year-old defender has impressed at Anfield and made his Reds debut in the pre-season friendly against Roma at Fenway Stadium in Boston last month.
McLaughlin, who has played in Northern Ireland youth teams, made 12 appearances for Liverpool's reserves last season.
Manchester United defender Jonny Evans misses out because of injury.
West Bromwich Albion winger Chris Brunt has welcomed the opportunity to boost his match fitness after suffering from a calf strain for much of the summer.
"Internationals at this stage are never good timing but, from my point of view, having missed virtually every friendly, it will be good to get some minutes under my belt," said Brunt.
The Finland friendly is a warm-up ahead of Northern Ireland's opening World Cup qualifier against Russia in Moscow on 7 September.
Michael O'Neill's team takes on group minnows Luxembourg four days later at Windsor Park.
