I wonder if according to his Scientology beliefs his jet is a DC-8?

Travolta's five private planes – a customised £2million Boeing 707, three Gulfstream jets and a Lear jet – are kept at the bottom of his garden in the US next to a private runway.

Oh that just proves he has too much money! With all those planes at his disposal, just worry like hell should he ever convert to Radical Islam ...

Oh it would have been fun if he'd had a DC-8 though. Scientologists believe life was brought to Earth in a fleet of spaceships which looked like DC-8's. This was spiritual revelation folks, and not L Ron Hubbard on seriously mental drugs.

A lot of the more way out sci-fi writers had unfortunate dabblings with drugs. I know Phillip K Dick messed around with all kinds of prescription medication. I wonder if Arthur C Clarke and Isaac Asimov ever dropped something together ...

As An Aviation Buff, Might I Interject With A Bit Of Trivia?

The Qantas Boeing 707-138B N-707JT (38 being Boeing's customer number for Qantas) is an original aircraft custom built for Qantas. this aircraft actually flew in the Qantas fleet.
The purchase & full restoration of this aircraft was paid for by Qantas.
There were 2 -707s rebuilt. One remains with Qantas (VH-XBA) in an early1960s "Austraia's Overseas Airline" livery & the other of course belongs to John in the The Later 1960s V-JET Livery as pictured.
The -138 was unigue amongst all other 707s in that it had the greatest range of the type, with a trade off of a shorter fuselage length.
Although John gained his commercial rating on his own, Qantas furthered his training to include The Rating On The 747-400 Series & John is actually Employed pert time by Qantas.
In return John flies the 707 worldwide on both the 707 & 747 to promote the Qantas brand.

I suspect the private planes cost more. New @ $45m USD Each, Or second hand at a reduced price.

PS. since I can't hotlink, try airliners.net.

DO NOT USE The main search Interface. Just go to the top right, find the little search window. Type in N707JT for a smorgasborg of amazing photos. VH-XBA makes cameo appearances as well.
