Default Octomom's Van Victim of a Drive-By Car-Seat Toss; Suleman Hires Security

Wed., Apr. 1, 2009 5:00 PM PDT by Natalie Finn

Say what you will about Nadya Suleman, but this sort of thing just isn't right.

Someone threw a car seat at Octomom's 2005 Toyota Sienna van early this morning, smashing the rear window and damaging one of the wipers and the rear door, while it was parked outside her family's La Habra, Calif., home, according to local police.

One of the village of nannies who has been helping to care for 13 of Suleman's 14 children (octuplet seven was discharged from the hospital today) saw the car seat lodged in the van window when when she arrived for work at 6:30 a.m.

A neighbor reported hearing a crash at about 3 a.m. and said she saw, through the window, a white cargo van speeding off down the street.

La Habra Police Lt. Fred Wiste took a vandalism report but said the case would largely rest on eyewitness evidence, if there is any.

A police spokeswoman says this isn't the first time the Suleman family has been a target—toilet paper was strewn across the lawn March 13, and someone snatched up all the "No Trespassing" signs from the lawn last week (though the culprit ultimately brought them back).

Kinda nasty, huh?

An attorney for Suleman told the Los Angeles Times today that she has hired security guards to watch the property.

Seven of Suleman's infamous octuplets, who were born nine weeks premature on Jan. 26, are home from the hospital. Son Josiah Angel, who is weighing in at 4 pounds, 8 ounces, was released from Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center this afternoon.

The eighth octuplet is doing well and should be ready to go home soon, neonatologist Dr. Mandhir Gupta said.

Two hospital staffers were fired and 13 resigned this week after being caught snooping through the 33-year-old single mom's medical records. Eight other employees were disciplined in connection with the security breach, as well.

While I don't approve of this I also don't see what the big deal is. The state is going to pay for the repairs just like they paid for her home, the nannies, the car, and everything else that she now owns. On top of all that apparently the state is now going to pay for bodyguards to watch the property. Why don't we just buy her a private island she can live on with all them kids.

This has got to be one of the most intricate ways to take the governments money. Just get a crooked fertility expert to give you lots of kids at once and then you get Uncle Sam to pay for everything you and your kids will ever need. She couldn't afford to take care of these kids, and she could barely afford to raise the ones she already had. She should never have been allowed another treatment but she was and now we are going to end up paying for everything this woman will ever need and want for the rest of her and her kid's lives!

I think that warrants people to be angry enough to do this kind of thing. With all the foreclosures and economic problems going on why should we have to pay for this woman's psychological need to have so many children. More than that why should the government buy this woman a house, car, security, nannies, lawyers, ect when she has proven to not be a productive member of society. Why not take that money and give it to people who actually aid the economy and give back to it.
