A NINE-year-old girl pregnant after years of alleged sexual abuse by her stepfather is likely to abort twins she is carrying in a case that has shocked Brazil, reports in Sao Paulo said.
The Brazilian girl, who was not identified because she is a minor, was found to be four months pregnant after being taken to hospital suffering stomach pains, the news websites G1, pe360graus and the Diario de Pernambuco reported.
She was being cared for by a medical and psychological team in the Maternal-Child Institude in the northern city of Recife, close to her hometown of Alagoinha in Pernambuco state, they said.
"We don't know if she will develop the pregnancy up to the end because of the structure of her body. It is a big risk for her,'' the doctor who confirmed her pregnancy before she was taken to the institute, Jose Severiano Cavalcanti, told the Diario de Pernambuco.
"She doesn't have a pelvis able to support a gestation of twins,'' he said.
Abortion is illegal in Brazil except in cases of rape or if the woman's health is in danger.
The institute in Recife was unable to immediately confirm information about the case.
According to police accounts reported in the media, the 23-year-old stepfather was believed to have abused the girl since she was aged six, paying her one Brazilian real (about 77 Australian cents) for each sexual relation.
He also allegedly abused the girl's physically handicapped 14-year-old sister.
He was arrested on Thursday as he attempted to flee to another region in Brazil, and was being kept in protective custody.
He needs killed as fast as possible.
Christ she's going to have trouble leading a normal life after that.

I had rather have a plain, russet-coated Captain, that knows what he fights for, and loves what he knows, than that which you call a Gentleman and is nothing else.
I never get the kill people that do really bad things. How is that hard on them? Wouldn't being in general population in max security worse?
I think for me, it's when someone does something so vile, they to me cease to be human beings. Putting them down is no worse than putting down a rabid dog.
Plus in the UK, we have a "messed up" idea of what life means. Life sentancing can often mean as little as 11 years behind bars. Life should mean life, put you away forever for the good of society. Plus I'm sick of hearing about murderers complaining about their life inside - the kind of "we have a 20" CRT TV in my cell - I demand a 28" LCD ... why shouldn't the tax payer provide it for me, I have rights"!![]()

I have no sympathy for people like this. Put them down. Get them out of society. Caring for an inmate in prison is a drain on tax dollars.
Think for yourself. Question authority.

Nugunz, my thoughts exactly. We don't use the death penalty nearly as much as we should, like on scumbags like this. I highly, HIGHLY support capital punishment.
A 9 year-old can have kids already?

Why should the victim have to go thru a lifetime of nightmares and suffering, while the perp escapes by being executed within x months? Yes, this makes sure that he never does it again, but how does that ease what the victim has goen thru / will go thru? It won't change the nightmares, or the inability to from trusting relationships. Her life is ruined. Fact. Not much (if anything) will change that.
If you really want the perp to suffer, life in prison without any chance of parole. Yes your tax dollars will pay for their stay, and is considerably more expensive than the death penalty, but deep down you will know that you are contributing to the suffering of a person who truly deserves it.
And while we are talking about the death penalty, what crime deserves the death penalty? Is it only taking a human life? To what extent can a person go before they get the death penalty? e.g. Which is worse: killing a person, or kidnapping, torturing, and mentally and emotionally destroying a person?

As for my personal views, I believe in the often mi-used bible quote "an eye for an eye". What the perp does to a victim, happens to the perp (by the victim or someone else). If the perp beats someone to within an inch of their life, that happens to them. If they steal from someone, something is taken from them. And if someone kills a person, they are killed (in the same way as the victim).
Question: Which is worse: Ignorance or Apathy?
Answer: I don't know, and I don't care...
Personally, I believe that everyone in the world has varying degrees of "evil" and uncaring" in them. That is why there is so much poverty and suffering in the world. Humans are inherently evil and uncaring. For example: People who kill bugs are evil because they think they are better and are a higher life form than them. People who walk by homeless people and don't stop to help them are uncaring. And how many times have you had an unpleasant, mean-spirited thought about another human? That is pure evil my friend...
At what point do you draw the line???
For the record, I kill bugs. I walk past homeless people without stopping to help. And I have frequent evil thoughts about other people (mostly my boss at work). I openly admit that I am evil and uncaring. Yet I work in IT support, and still strive to help as many people as I can. Not because I get paid to do it, but because I want to. I enjoy helping people. Does that mean that I deserve the death penalty because I have those evil and uncaring thoughts???
I'm not trying to stir up trouble, just putting forward alternate ideas...

Actually overall we are seeing puberty kicking in at much earlier ages. IT used to be 15 or 16 then fell to 11 to 13 and is now actually sitting around 8-11 years old depending on many factors including, genetics, individual, environment, and nationality (yes being black, Asian, white, ect makes a difference) just to name a few.
Not everyone hits puberty at the same time and some still hit puberty as late as 15 or 16 and sometimes a bit later than that. Also for females, puberty allows them to start making eggs but it is unsafe for a woman to have a baby until her body finishes the changes that come with puberty. This is because the hips widen, the internal sex organs grow and expand and they prepare for the life that will eventually grow inside them. With this change comes all the normal stuff, growth spurts, breasts, ect. If they have not finished puberty having a child is extremely dangerous because quite frankly their is not enough room for the child to exist or come out safely.
I also do agree that this guy should not get the death penalty. Instead I think he should be castrated and become the prison's personal bitch for the rest of his life and be used by anyone in there for whatever they like. Let him feel what it is like to be violated.
Christ my sex ed seems about 20 years out of date ... actually probably closer to 30 years out of date than I'd like to think! (1982)

We could turn him over to Dick Cheney and let him try out new information gathering techniques. Most of the time people beg to live, convicts don't want to die they appeal and appeal to live so dying is the worst thing we can do to them.
