I've got it. Its alright, took a while to find where everything was. My wife hates it. Where's the refresh button?!? where's this where's that.

I got a copy with an upgrade drive. So far so good, its faster than my XP 64

It takes way too many resources to me. When you get into how gigs of ram it needs to work well. It's ridiculous to me.

If you are thinking of buying a copy I'd say wait to see Windows 7 heard VERY good things about it. Even from Windows haters.

I have 6gs of ram. Vista hates my scanner and I can't find a new driver for it

That's what I mean a couple of years ago if you said you had 2gb of ram people would think you were rendering video or something big. Now you will hear you should add a couple more gigs if you want flash to run well.

I have Vista and really like it. It makes things a lot smoother.

I guess peoples' main complaint that it takes a lot of resources is inapplicable to me since I'm on a quad-core though.

You can't run Vista on an old XP PC. It needs a new computer with a lot more ram than XP takes up. That's what I did. My new PC came with Vista. I've had Vista since last August, and have not had any problems with it.

Vista's certainly an improvement, though it'd be nice if it didn't have problems with its folder's access control and permissions. Has Microsoft settled on a release date for Windows 7 yet?
