    Default Would you commit suicide?!

You know your life is important. You think you know how to help yourself. It all ends in tears. You see no way out. You are getting terribly desparate. But would you end your own life?!

    WOULD YOU?!

Personally, I would probably have that thought, but would never go thru with it. No not because I'm a coward or anything, but for many reasons. Firstly, my religion forbids me from taking my own life or others, as I believe all the religions abide by this rule. Secondly, life is so short for it to be ended...there are so many things to do and explore, places to visit, people to meet, etc. Thirdly, even in desperate times, you must really think the weight of suicide; is it really worth it to end my life? Life has it's ups and downs, but that's the journey. Some people have it tougher than others, but those are the real respected heroes if you will because they can overcome the challenges infront of them. Committing suicide would be a waste, and you can always seek help from others. Maybe they're going thru the same thing as you are. Why not help each other out?

I'd be afraid of going to hell and then the suffering would be much worse. I've thought about religious people who have killed themselves what happened to them? My neighbor said everything was okay between himself and God then he killed himself. That was a huge shock. He had smoked until he couldn't breathe and was suffering badly. His widow was left in horrible metal shape.

I don't know, I can't explain how he must have felt, because I haven't gone thru it. Maybe he didn't have a problem with god, maybe he had a problem with himself or something/someone and he sees no way out?

NO WAY! Life is NEVER that bad where one should end their life. The only people that end up getting hurt is the family and friends that are left behind.

The thought has crossed my mind when the pain of life seemed overwhelming but they always improve. At least my outlook improves. Lately I've tried to focus on what I do have not what I've lost and the pathetic outlook. I know it's a bit simplistic but it does work.
I'm tired of dwelling on the negative.

For anyone who thinks commiting (or attempting) suicide is a "cowardly" act, I put it to you that it takes courage to do something about a problem (although suicide is NOT always the answer), and it is those who ignore people suffering that are the cowards. Actively avoiding someone you can see (or know) is in pain is no different to walking past someone who is bleeding badly from an attack and is about to die. You could have helped them, ubt instead they are going to die. EVERYONE can help make a difference in someone's life. And to sit back and call people names for trying to change their lives is the wrong thing to do.

Talk to someone. You CAN save a life!

Question: Which is worse: Ignorance or Apathy?
    Answer: I don't know, and I don't care...

The only concievable circumstance when suicide could be an acceptable solution would be if you were in extreme pain due to injury or illness and there's no other way to make it stop but... to not be alive anymore.

For anything else, you can find help. 9 times out of 10, a suicide is a coward running away.

It'd be nice if the whole religious belief issue wasn't there, that's for sure, and to know what's waiting for you if you do off yourself. If I knew for a fact it was bliss, no matter how I went...

Life, no matter how painful, is still worth living.

its not the fact that you end your own life, its the heartbreak other people have to deal with after, i just could never do that to my loved ones. no matter how bad life gets.

    Default Nope

You have to think of the impact you will have on the people you leave behind. I love my children & grandchildren too much to put them through that kind of hell.

Well speaking from first hand experience, sometime's suicide seems the only way out. i spent very many years in a very dark place trapped in a world i hated and i felt like i was never going to get out of it. so i turned to taking an overdose i was lucky in the fact that i was found and was taken to hospital. now five years later i am a better person and i have a great and happy life. But i was raised a catholic and suicide is mortal sin there for i would be going to hell. But let me tell you this when you feel low enough to kill yourself, you dont think of religion, infact it is tha last thought going through your mind.

A while ago I was seriously considering suicide. My life was hitting rock bottom, I felt alone, and saw no way out. The only thing keeping me from not going through with it was not the fear of being punished by some higher power, in fact that was the last thing going through my mind. The one thing that kept me going was the hope that some day things would turn out better. With the help of a friend, I stuck through it and now my life is great. That taught me that no matter what, life is worth living because if you play your cards right there is a way out of the hole you're in. All you need is one person to help you and your whole life can change, that's what happened to me.

So to answer the original post, I would not commit suicide nor would I ever consider it again. Even if it may seem like the end for you, there is ALWAYS a way out. You may just have to look harder than you'd like to find it.
