Final Fantasy XIII

Ever since the very first Final Fantasy was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan by Square Enix, formerly known as Square, fans have been lining up to buy the next installments. In total, Square Enix has released 12 stand-alone games on various consoles and a few direct sequels to some of the more popular games. (ex. FFVII Dirge of Cerberus, FFX-2) Currently in development, among other things, is the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XIII.

I've been looking forward to Final Fantasy XIII coming out since I finished FFXII over 2 years ago. Since it has been announced, it has been confirmed that it will be released not only on the PS3, but on the XBOX 360 as well. However, it was said that it would be released later this year in Japan and in December of this year here in the US at the earliest. I just recently learned that it will be released in April of 2010 here, but Square Enix is still planning to release the game in Japan this year.

I have to say even with the US release being pushed, I'm still looking forward to playing it. Until it comes out though, I'll just have to settle for a few other games that come out this year. (Halo Wars and Halo 3 ODST for example)...I think I'll live.

While I love the idea of a new FF, at this point it would kill me if it were released. I'm still recuperating from x-mas that went way over budget. Not only that, I have too many other hobbies. I over spent on boxing week & this month too to the point it cut deep into my grocery bill for the next 2 months.
If FF13 came out by April, I would die slowly knowing it's on the shelves.
Chrystal chronicles is the last FF game I played. not the best of the series, but hey it's FF.

I feel your pain. I rally have to watch my bank account around the holiday season. It's a good thing you get so many entertainment hours from video games.

not sure if im looking forward to FF vs XIII more than FFXIII, then on top of that, agito and ill have to buy a psp for that. FFXII thing is gonna be expensive.

Just read an article about the E3 demo.

Graphics look awesome, but it looks like S-E took another step backwards in gameplay. Evidently you can only control one of your 3 characters in battle. The others will be AI-controlled, with apparently even less options on your part then XII.

Not sure why S-E continues to mess with the system. Don't get me wrong, innovation is good; new things can be good. But this one isn't. give me back control of my characters!!!

It has a lot to make up for after FF12.

True - Very disappointed in XII. The world design and basic structure was awesome, but the storyline was bland, and I was really turned off by the player-participation-not-required battle system.

Final Fantasy XIII seems to be one of the best Final's up to date =D
