There are a lot of good points made in the previous posts. Here are some of the ones I hate most:
1) Bad storyline - If the character I have spent hours building up is required to die at the end of the game even if I 'win', I don't like the story.
2) Bad on-line play - either because of the other players, or because you have to play 24x7 just to survive.
3) Difficult in-game controls - I shouldn't need 3 or 4 hands to play a game.
4) Cheating or bad AI - Bad AI can ruin a good game, but AI that cheats is just plain frustrating. If I lose a game because I make a mistake, fine, but to lose because the AI cheats just sucks.
5) Bugs - enough said.
6) Bad or no camera control - Games that control the camera angle and move it around based on what I do, sometimes put it in really weird places where you can't see where you want to see.
7) Inability to skip 'cinematic sequences' - Most really good games are games that I will play more than once. If I am playing a game more than once, it is likely I would want to skip past movies or sequences I have already seen. |
