Default Recommeded Game Downloads (Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3)

This thread is to make recommendations for downloadable games for the Nintendo Virtual Console, Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Home.

Nintendo Virtual Console Recommended Titles

World of Goo - A puzzle strategy game where you build towers out of various goo balls to get to the level end goal. Very Adictive. Can use all Collected goo ball to build giant tower.

Tetris Party - In my opinion this is the definitive version of Tetris it has a variety of single player multiplayer and even cooperative modes. Online play is simple and you can practice while waiting.

Bomber Man Blast - great multiplayer games. This version has a lot of custom options and Mii Support. The online play set up is a little weak but this is a better game to play with real freinds anyways.

Dr. Mario RX - This is another great puzzle game similar to Tetris. The online play matches you up quick with an opponent. I personally prefer this game to Tetris for vs mode. This game has Mii Support

World of Goo is by far the best downloadable title you can get for Wii. I've played the PC version and to be honest it's one of the best indy games I've seen in years.

As for the Xbox, I've only played a handful of games and I can recommend Braid and both Puzzle Quest games. To be honest most of them are crap from my point of view. Can't quite understand why would you want to spend money on simple games when you can get a used copy of a retail game for a similiar price.

For the xbox 360 I have to agree with xrznaas most of the games are not great.

TMNT: 1989 was the original 1989 4 player Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade game which I fell in love with as a kid and was the first thing that made me buy MS points to get. That game is still great and with the ability for four people to be in the game at one time beating the crap out of stuff means great fun when you are with friends.

Assault Heroes 1 & 2 are not bad either and is one of the old arcade ground shooters where you just lay in massive fire on everything and is a fun game to run through every once and awhile.

The only other game I have found that is any good is Bejeweled 2.

If you like TMNT Arcade you will probably also like Castle Crashers for Xbox Live. The game has an old school arcade feel with an added RPG element (like River City Ransom) as you are able to level up your characters speed, health and magic. The game can have up to four players and you can save your characters progress on your profile. The only bad part of this game is there is too much level grinding required during the second half of the game.

There is another good DL out right now for the 360 called Family Fun Night (or something very close to that, can't remember the exact name) but it is a free DL under arcade that has a bunch of family games to it like scrabble, yahtzee, sorry, battleship, + many more. All of them can go multiplayer on one console or it can be taken online.
