its out!! anygood, anyone?
New RPG coming out from BioWare in early November for the PC, XBox 360, and PS3. They may no longer have the D&D license but they want to still put out a mature fantasy game which adds ethical decisions to the usual party leveling & looting experience, ala Baldur's Gate
Supposedly, the decisions we make effect the world, and our paths to success. They will be releasing the tool they used to create the game so PC user's can create and modify content, supporting a strong user mod community. They will also release downloadable content updates (some for more money naturally).
A character creation tool was released this week:

There are some videos of some of the unique characters on their site. Here's a couple videos on youtube:

it's pretty good from what I've played so far. with it being a bioware game you can expect some choices when in dialogue but other than affecting how other characters in your party see you it doesn't really make much difference what you say. there is no clear good/evil outcome from what I've seen, which really disappointed me.
well i know of a few things where there is a big good or evil outcome but i won't spoil it for you...
as for celtic67, I have out about 30 hours into my main character and countless other hours into other characters and i have to say it is a great game. Although there are some small bugs here and there... (i fell through a set of stairs in the village at redcliffe during the night fight and had to start that whole section over again because i forgot to quick save... so moral of the story, QUICK SAVE!!!) but only a few other minor bugs and glitches that should be fixed quite soon...

Excellent game, in my opinion - although not without its share of minor bugs/flaws. I just picked it up on the Xbox yesterday and created a human mage. I took vulnerability hex and drain life right off the bat, which is a great combo. Very enjoyable game.

My understanding is that they designed the game so that your behavior won't have an immediate effect on you, but might change the story later on. I think they were trying to avoid the classic good/evil, light/dark scenario from the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games. One thing that always bugged me from those games was that you got huge bonuses from being consistently good/evil, but gained no such stat bonus from being neutral. Still loved KOTOR II though.
