YES!!! Here's some rep points!
Interesting
Heard it before
I don't see the point to video games
This game looks absolutely amazing. The graphics are astounding and the premise is realistic. Valve, the game's developer, recently released a statement that the game will have a more improve version of the AI director from Left 4 Dead, where as last time the AI bots would control the amount and strength of zombies in different sections of the level, they said in L4D2 the AI director will actually be able to control the zombies and the layout of the map as well. One level involves zombies breaking out of tombs and out of the ground in a large graveyard. Now each time you play the game the graveyard will have a new route from start to finish so its a new experience in every play. This will likely be duplicated by games similar to but not including Assassin's Creed where the player has to navigate through a large city styled map which is only really interesting the first 2-3 plays through. I found this to be ground breaking for single-player parts of games.

too soon??? as long as the org is still supported
The reason why people are saying "too soon" is because you can't be playing L4D and L4D2 at the same time. Sooner or later you'll have to choose. Judging by the fact that L4D2 is selling great most players have decided to abandon the first game. I'm talking consoles because on PC there's a strong online & modding community that'll probably last a few more years.

Owning both games I do have to say that L4D 2 is much better than one. Better graphics, better levels, more weapons, ect.
However L4D one is still a great game and I would still love to play that one to but Valve is shutting it down by force.
Right now the only real way to play one is to do a local game via 2 player splitscreen or system link. Valve doesn't want to pay for 2 servers and since they are pushing L4D 2 they have steadily been switching server power to that causing L4D to run extremely laggy where your shots don't even count for about 15 seconds.
While L4D 2 is a bit laggy still it isn't very bad at all maybe a half a second or so. The reason for this can be chalked up to ping, distance between player & host, and the amount of people playing.
So basically L4D one is gone already because playing it online is so frustrating with the lag and the dedicated servers valve hosts are not allowing achievements to be unlocked players are quitting fast. Most that still play are the new gamers who finally picked it up now that it is dropped in price thanks to the 2nd being released.
I liked L4D 2 better. Found theAI was smarter as was you partners while you were playing with out friends!
Everytime I play without friends and I get smoked, hunted, charged or jockey'd my bot team mates wait until I'm incapacitated before they do anything. I've been hunted next to all 3 of my bot team mates with full health, and watched my team literally stare at me until I became incapped, then they killed the hunter. If you ask me they made the bots dumb as hell in L4D2.
I do like it better than L4D1 though mainly for the melee weapons and scavenge mode
