Total war series

Hi guys im new here to the forum, and am trying to gain my 5 reps, so i thought id try and start up a few threads to see if anyone is interested in my insane ramblings haha.

Any of you guys play Empire total war ?, or indeed the ones before which in order was

Shogun
Medieval
Rome
Medieval 2
Empire (18th cen wars)

All had added parts to them, and all of them when first released had there bad points, for example sadly empire was released far to early, i believe the guys who made it creative assembley were forced to release it early to make money, when they knew it was not fully finished, and its taking a lot of patches to make it any way decent, it looks great, but the stand alone game is a bit hit and miss

The best thing about the whole series is the mods for them, im playing darthmod for empireTW, and its great, they have completly reskinned the units, added loads of others, maps, sound etc, its like a new game, and they have put more men into each unit, i just had a battle with 7,000 brits vs 11,000 french, and it was epic as hell

Any way im a huge military history fan, and these games are great fun, but possibly the 3d real time battles may put some of, you dont control individual men , but units or either inf, cav art and in empire for the first time in the series naval ships in 3d battles.

I played all of them to death, not a massive fan of shogun or that period of history, but when it first came out there was nothing like it. If i had to pick, id say rome will always be the game i enjoyed most, but been playing a lot of Empire recently as i love my british redcoats.

So anyway (told you i tend to ramble haha), any fans on here ?, any one play any of them, what do you think of this series.
