unable to see links

Hey guys, just joined last night and am having a bit of trouble here. When I click on a topic and it does not have listed the file name, if it's just a link, I get the message that I am not authorised to view that. Or some thing to that extent. Also, when I I try and look at clips I get the same message. Is there some other pay side I need to join to get that stuff? Just curious. Tia and have a good one
