Default How Can I Change The Date Display Format?

I would prefer the format to be month, day and year. The default is day, month and year. I looked all through the User CP and I did not see a way to change it.

Am I missing something obvious? (Very likely.)

Can't change it.

It's standard everywhere but here in the states. Gets confusing for me if it's like 06/05/08.

I am confused by that too. On these forums I never know if it's European order or American order. I'm used to the American order month, day, year, so when it's reversed I am confused.

Are there more American users on here? Would it screw everyone else up if it were changed?

It's also more a common way for servers and software.

Which, M/D/Y or D/M/Y?

I am a member of maybe a couple of dozen other forums and there is only one other that has the D/M/Y format as a default and I was able to change it.

That's the way... it's the other 99% of the world that's different, not the 1% (America)

And no I'm not being anti-american. Just stating that it's not always the majority that is wrong all the time...

No problem there Monkey, I completely understand. What about a compromise?
It's not the fact that the date format is different for me, it's just most of the boards I belong to or mod on have the date either set m/d/yy or Wed 16th Jan '08, 4:12am .
What are the chances of changing the date format to something like the 2nd example? It's really not much of an issue to me if you want to leave it.
