Making Posts: How do I do it?

So you have read the FAQ http://www.newsgab.com/forum/faq.php

Well then you are now ready to create a new post. Posting is easy but requires certain rules to be followed.

Whether you are creating a post with pictures or no pictures, four rules must be followed.

1. You must search the site to be sure what you are posting is not already on the boards. If you don't find a topic that matches what you want to post then you can create a new post and can move through steps 2 - 4. However if you find a topic that has been created and you have new content that matches that topic then you must create a reply. A reply allows you to do all the same things as a post but adds it into an already created topic. This keeps things centralized and creates less of a chance of dupes as everything pertaining to one topic is kept in one topic. If you are making a reply then proceed to step 3 and then on to how to attach images (if you are attaching images).

Please Note: If you do not find a topic that matches your pics then you must create a new topic. Do not add random photos to an already existing thread.

2. You must create a title that follows everything the site asks for. A title must be descriptive this means putting the celebs full name, the name of the event/magazine/shoot/activity (such as out and about, walking, ect), description of clothing being worn (this tends to get left out for magazines & photoshoots if they wear to many outfits but you should try to put it in if you can even if it is just the most commonly worn clothing within a set), and any other information you feel is relevant such as city/place/date. Avoid using simple terms like "best of", or being general like "in a bikini", "at the beach", "topless" on their own. You can use these general terms but use them in conjunction with all the required info. Try and always describe beach wear as it helps people when they search. Also do not be afraid to put "unknown" in the title. If you have pictures you know are from a mag/movie/photoshoot but don't know the name then put unknown in it.

So a bad title would be: "Lindsay Lohan out and about", "Hot Girl" "Paris Hiton in a bikini", "Jessica Simpson", "Alyssa Milnao topless", "Alyssa Milano Nude"

Good (acceptable) titles would be: "Jessica Alba in Maxim Magazine: (various outfits)", "Jennifer Garner (pink shirt and blue jeans) out and about", "Paris Hilton (pink bikini) on a beach", "Alyssa Milano (topless) on a beach", "Alyssa Milano (topless) in an unknown movie"

Great titles would be something like: "Britney Spears (light blue bikini) lounging on Miami beach", "Alyssa Milano (blue top and tight jeans) out and about NY on 3-15-09", "Carla Gugino (blue dress) walking on the streets of LA", "Alyssa Milano (topless) caps from Embrace of the Vampire", "Jessica Alba in Maxim Magazine February 2009: (White tank top, green bikini, black dress)"

Remember when creating a title to try and create a verbal image of what your pictures are showing.

Third, you must create a reply. A reply can be anything you want from emoticons, why you like the pictures, to simply "Enjoy".

4. Finally to finish off any post you must create tags for it. Tags are keywords that match your post and you are allowed 5 for each post. These must be put in separated by commas. So you create a post that was titled Paris Hilton (pink bikini) on a beach. Your tags would then be set up like this: Paris Hilton, pink bikini, beach. If you have a magazine you are posting then your title would look like Jennifer Garner in Maxim Magazine February 2009: (various outfits). Your tags would be Jennifer Garner, Maxim Magazine. If you have a post in the game section such as a review it would be set up like this: Name of Game, review, name of sytem (pc, xbox, ect). Tags for a post in the news section could be: Obama, president, iran, america.

If you have no images to attach to the post/reply then just click submit post/reply. If you want to add images then see the section on How do I attach images: http://www.newsgab.com/forum/how-hel...-my-posts.html

Please Note: Once you click submit you will only have 5 minutes in which you are allowed to edit that post. After that the edit option disappears. This is the time limit Chief (the owner of the site) has set up and is not going to be changed. Any changes after that will have to be done by a mod. If you follow all the rules set up here then you should not have need of this unless you find a name to an event/shoot/mag that was previously unavailable to you. If you have pics to add you can put the desired information in the new reply but if not you should pm a mod as it is quicker and more efficient.
