Default Americanized Health Care

With all the issues coming up in the 2008 election, Healthcare is going to be one of the bigger issues. I find it interesting to read about other countries and their healthcare systems and I am beginning to believe they are on the right track. Currently 40% percent of Americans do not have health insurance. That rate is suppose to increase dramatically as health care costs continue to rise. The Constitution of the United States guarantees the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If we have the right to Life, then I think that ties in strongly with healthcare. If you can't get healthcare your constitutional rights are being violated. There was an interesting article from a Canadian perspective. Here is the link:

I think it is time that the U.S needs to look at copying some of these other countries health care plans.

I saw a thing not sure it it was true. In Canada if you have a tooth problem that just hurts but isn't a true health issue you may have to wait a long time to get it fixed if you want it done without paying for it yourself.

This is a fallacy generated by the Insurance companies and the Republican party. Ask any real doctor if National Health care is the way to go and they will say "yes". I asked three doctors at the local hospital independently and each one said it is the best way. It is actually less expensive because under National Health Care a thing called "Preventative Maintenance" is practiced. It is sort of like changing the oil on your car because it is cheaper to change the oil then to replace the engine after it burns up due to the fact the oil wasn't changed. This is how the doctor explained it to me. Under the current health care system in America, people only go to the doctor when the pain becomes unbearable because of how expensive it is to go see a doctor. Then an expensive operation has to be performed in order to save the patient. He explained if this same patient would have come in for a free checkup under National Health care then the particular ailment, let's say colon cancer for example, could have been detected early and much cheaper by have the patient undergo a colonoscupy (sorry if I did not spell that right) where the small cancer pollip could have been easily removed as compared to a full bore fist sized tumor that could eventually even kill the patient in spite of surgery. It is time for America to reform Health Insurance and the time is now to switch to National Health care. Ask any Canadian who complains about Canadian Health care if he or she would rather switch to the American version and you won't find a single Canadian who would go for that idea.

Your comment is irrelevant and ridiculous.

I just love all those documentaries and expose articles on how the people of England are just leaving their country in hordes to come to the USA and live as illegal aliens in the states because of our health system and low taxes.......LoL!!!

Default there is no such thing as free healthcare

i live in Belgium where we have arguably some of the best free healthcare in the World. The tax rate is between 50 and 55 percent. So if you are still enough of an idiot to think healthcare is free, go back and take some remedial math. Healthcare is only free, if you don't work. What you will find out is, who's insurance do you want to pay, just yours, or yours and every person who lives off the system. You better pray Hilary Clinton doesn't get elected. You Americans are too spoiled to know how good you have it.

It doesn't say in the constitution you have a right to health care.
