Susan is about to get married - when wouldn't you know it, she gets hit by a radioactive meteor, and turned into a giant [Attack of the 50ft Woman].
She's taken to a secret government compound, where other monsters are kept,
- a fish-man (Creature from the Black Lagoon)
- a half-man half-insect experiment gone wrong (The Fly)
- a pile of blobby goo (The Blob)
- a massive insect (Godzilla)
But when aliens attack - who ya gonna call?
-----------------------
Thus is the premise of Dreamworks latest movie.
The price of admission gets you a fun movie, but not a great one. Story wise it's kind of just a rehash of movies you've seen. The characters as mentioned have their roots on other films.
The aliens when they attack have a War of the Worlds/Independence Day feel to them. The fight against the alien probe is very much like the end of The Incredibles. The end mothership very much like Independence Day.
It's like watching a riff of your favourite movies without anything new and original to define it as a movie in it's own right.
Shame.
