    Smile UP

Pixar keeps delivering the goods. They take a old man and stick him in an adventure comedy. Ed Asner voices the old man in UP and captures the essence of an elderly man that doesn't really like the development of the neighborhood. As a young kid he encounters his wife and they both love the water fall in South America because of a famous adventurer in their day. He promises to take her there. One thing leads to another and he choses to move his house with the help of numerous balloons. Along for the ride is a "boyscout" type boy that has only one more patch before he collects them all. The last patch is to help the elderly and he accidentally stows away on the floating house and the relationship is born. Good movie, some sad parts but nothing to make the movie depressing. I definatly think this movie, shows us why Pixar is the King of making CG movies, good plot and story line, with a mixture of comedy makes for a great movie for all ages. 9 out of 10

It's the little touches in this movie that make it so good. The attention to physics and detail and excellent and never fails to raise a smile.

Great movie. I'm not a big fan of animated films but Pixar is almost always worth watching. The story in this one was particularly well done and I was surprised at how many people were crying fifteen minutes into the film.

    Yes, Up was very good.

Most of the studios making CGI films are run by the typical, jaded executive who fears anything too innovative. They don't know how to just let their creative people be creative. Pixar seems to have been founded by people who are sincere and want to tell real stories, and to try new things. Of course I say this just before Toy Story 3 comes out next year :-p But I think we can all see Pixar's love of creativity nonetheless. Very interested in The Bear and The Bow, although it's years off.
