 Funny People Review
This was a good movie in two parts. I liked this movie but the two parts of this film never meshed together for me. One movie is the one with Adam Sandler sick and making mends with all his old friends and comrades. The other is a non sick Adam Sandler who learns from his mistakes but takes for granted what he has, with a sprinkle of stand up throughout. I think one items that most people will agree with is that it was just too long. I don't know if Judd Apatow was trying for a Lord of The Ring type movie but 2 1/2hours is just too long for a comedy. The characters in the movie were not drawing enough so the viewer felt close to the people. On the side of the jokes and everything, I laughed very hard. Particularly when the swedish doctor yells a line at Adam Sandler in a bar, I nearly fell out of my seat laughing. Bottom line is that they could have cut 30 mins out of this movie and it would have been great. Good movie not the best but good. I give this movie a 7.5 out of 10 |
