GI Joe, Rise of Cobot as bad as everyone says

Just a post to see the support for the G.I Joe movie, who cares if the plot is abit weak and its just loads of special effect, some of the best movies are just pure entertainment, i for one don't want all films to be films like gladiator or lost in translation, then again, even harry potter is just special effects, so lets show support for a entertaining film

I just wanna know how true it holds to the cartoon that I use to enjoy as a kid. Is Cobra Commander and his hooded self in the movie? Is Destro there with his chrome dome, literally? I am holding off on seeing this one until it hits Redbox.

I went and seen it, its not as bad as reported. Sadly it was so loud I could not hear much of the dialog, I forgot to get me some ear plugs to turn down the volume. Some scenes was way over the top and brought the movie down. And in no way is it as good as the one with Captain America but I've forgot the name of that movie. When the two stars run down the street in body suits many people laughed. Good looking Sienna Miller is blown out of the water by Rachel Nichols! WoooooWeeeee she looked good. I look forward to hearing (close captioned) the movie when it comes out on DVD, its tough losing my hearing. Most of the time War is so fake in these movies. In real life Heroes die.

I got dragged to see it and trust me Ken you didn't need to hear much. The first 5 minutes of the film set up the entire story line and after that it is just an all out action film. The little bit of dialogue you get is just characters bragging about how good they are, other "red shirt" soldiers claiming how good those main characters are, one character trying to hit on the good girl and somehow making it even though he shouldn't, the bad girl brooding over the good guy, and some jokes thrown in to keep the mood as light as possible. Overall the film is decent, below good, but above bad.

All the rest of the important dialogue comes in about the last 5 minutes of the film when Cobra Commander reveals himself as the real bad guy and you get the low down on the hot bad girl the main good guy likes. Yada Yada point is this is as cookie cutter an action film as you will ever get and for all the deaths and explosions in the film you have hardly any blood and the entire film is built entirely upon action. In that regard it holds up to the cartoon but in all other ways from what I am told, not being a fan myself, this film is nothing like it.

If you want a mindless action film then this is for you but if you want your childhood ruined wait till you can rent it because it sure isn't worth 9+ dollars to see at the movies. If you think you want to see this in the theater go and rent a 2 dollar action film from the 70s or 80s and you will get the exact same thing but with, more than likely, a better and more coherent story line.
