well finally got to take the kids to the cinema for their first time and have to say the movie was great for and animated film aimed at kids ages.

The director Pete Docter is his second feature length film after Monsters Inc.
i can honestly say its a lot better too the graphics are unreal !

The movie centers around a grumpy old man named Carl Fredricksen ,who flys to South America in a floating house suspended from helium balloons LOL too funny
Carl Fredricksen, a shy and quiet young boy, meets an energetic and outgoing bucktoothed barefooted tomboy named Ellie, discovering they share the same interest in exploration as their hero, the then 24-year-old famed explorer Charles F. Muntz. Ellie expresses her desire to move her clubhouse to Paradise Falls in South America, a promise she makes Carl keep. Carl and Ellie wed and grow old together in the old house where they first met while making a living as a toy balloon vendor and a zookeeper respectively. Unable to have children, they also try to save up for the trip to Paradise Falls but other financial obligations arise. Just as they seem to finally be able to take their trip, Ellie dies of old age, leaving Carl living alone in their home as a sour recluse with nothing to live for and missing his wife terribly. As the years pass, the city grows around Carl's house with construction as Carl refuses to move. After a tussle with a construction worker over Carl's broken mailbox, the court orders Carl to move into Shady Oaks Retirement Home. Carl comes up with a scheme to keep his promise to Ellie, and uses his old professional supplies to create a makeshift airship using tens of thousands of helium balloons that lift his house off its foundations. Russell, a Wilderness Explorer trying to earn his final merit badge for "Assisting the Elderly", has stowed away on the porch after being sent on a snipe hunt by Carl the day before.

I thought it was rather good however I found Monsters Inc. to be excellent. As for the graphics, the graphics in MI was the best of its time too.

Just look at Sully. The algorithm and rendering for each hair in movement...
It was a first in animation at the time.

I would definitely recommend this film.

Absolutely the CGI is cutting edge and spectacular in it's own right, but the plot is also at times extremely moving, especially for a CGI film, and there were even times when I found myself not even caring that the characters were CGI generated.

It was a most pleasant suprise to find what I thought was going to be simply an entertaining animated movie, to not only be that, but to also be a very good treatise on the depth and breadth of love, and a wonderful microscope into the dynamics of a long-term relationship.

Call me cheesy, call me overly-romantic...call me whatever you want...but this movie provided some "lump-in-your-throat" "tears-in-your-eyes" choke-up moments.

Great film to watch with your significant other! A+
I just post what looks interesting as I'm wandering around the 'net. Credit always to the original scanner(s), capper(s), and or poster(s) of the content that I might put up here
