Question Which is the best concert you have ever been to?

Following some of the Concert discussions in the 4th of July thread I thought I'd start a new one here as it could turn out interesting

I've been to a few concerts but the best one I've attended is U2's POPMART tour back in Leeds in the UK

The Music was fantastic but the stage really helped contribute to the over all experience.

The Band played with the largest screen I've ever seen at a concert and more randomly a huge yellow lemon (you kinda had to be there) which turned into a big disco ball......

The weather was crap but I'll remember that concert forever

Rush. I just went to see them on the 4th (spawning this thread.) They played for over 2-1/2 hours and the videos they had on their screens while singing were pretty cool, as was the fire shooting up during the 3-song encore.

2nd place is Steven Curtis Chapman. You wouldn't think so, him being a Christian singer and all, but he's had a few mainstream hits and that show really rocked. [I saw him last summer at the NY State Fair with Jars of Clay (my sig) and Joy Williams, who is quite cute.]

I have been to many great concerts and one that I wont forget is Bruce Springsteen in the summer of 2003 at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki (2nd night) Bruce and the E-Street band rocked for 3 hours. If there'd had been a roof at the stadium the roof had been lifted.

A near contender might become The Who, that I will see on Monday in Helsinki. The expectations for the show is very high....

Memphis in May Beale Street Music Festival in 2008. On Friday, a couple of local bands warmed the stage but later that night it got wild. Seether went on and right after them Disturbed kicked ass. It was amazing.

    Toronto. 2003. Sars Stock. Record breaking 450,000+ people. 10:00am - 12:30 AM.
All star venue. Headliner & event organizers The Rolling Stones & A star studded line up including The Tea Party, Sass Jordan, Jeff Healy (RIP), Blue Rodeo, The Flaming Lips, Jann Arden, Sarah McLachlan, Justin Timberlake, The Guess Who, The Isley Bros, and Sum 41, took part in the June extravaganza, However It Was Rush that got the party started & performed like I've never seen them before, But it was AC/DC that stole the show. The Stones were a major disappointment after that. They were the anti-climax.
Was glad to see Jeff healy for the first time, hoever & that boy could play. Wish his set was bigger. Can't say I was disappointed by any of the other performers either. It was a Great concert.

    Other fave concerts were:
    Pink Floyd
    The Box
    Strange Advance
    Nash The Slash

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Georgetown University, 1976. I worked security in front of the stage. My ears rang for three days but I got to walk the boys to their bus afterwards. They were just funny, funny guys enjoying life back then.
    With warmest regards,

In 1989 in New York, I had the chance to see some of the best concerts of all-time.

The Who - 4 nights at Giants Stadium (Best show and my favorite band)
Rolling Stones - 2 nights at Shea Stadium (Best stage ever)
Eric Clapton - Nassau Coliseum (Best musician, just him on stage destroying the guitar)
Pink Floyd - Nassau Coliseum (Best place to trip)

    Default Best concert

Mötley Crüe/Loudness, circa about 1986. They blew the doors off Madison Square Garden and fans cut open the seats and tossed the foam onto the stage. Pretty friggen wild time... from what I can remember.

Ozzy Ozbourne/Queensryche, circa about 1987-88. Ozzy drops down in a giant bat and the wings unfold to expose him sitting there, looking like, well, The Oz. Quuensryche was good, but better when I saw them with Iron Maiden at Radio City on their, Powerslave Tour. Awesome.

Tool, two years ago at the Richmond Collessium. I'm 23 year old, 200 pound ex highschool football player... But I wept. Might have been the concession stand booze, but I think It was mostly the Tool.

    Please come back soon, guys.

I was at those 2, also saw U2, 7th row, at Giants Stadium, but the best I remember (key word!) was Jethro Tull at Madison Square Garden in the early 80s.......everything was on that night......

I used to go to a lot of live concerts at University.

I'm getting back into the habbit of listening and seeking out new music, though I tend to seek out what's local over looking for the big bands. Or perhaps I'm just a cheapskate!

I remember House of Love 1990 being an absolutely memorable band. Though I look back on their songs and think they were a wee bit pretensious at times.

I recently went to see Fairport Convention with a friend - a wonderful folk rock band, but they are way off their prime now.
I had rather have a plain, russet-coated Captain, that knows what he fights for, and loves what he knows, than that which you call a Gentleman and is nothing else.
