Kelly Clarkson beats Britney Spears Kelly Clarkson is going to beat Britney Spears. Again. On the Billboard chart. Her new single, “My Life Would Suck Without You,” will break records on Thursday when it makes the largest leap to No. 1 in the Billboard chart’s 50-year history.
According to Billboard.com, the song will jump to the top spot from No. 97 on the Hot 100 chart when it sold 280,000 digital downloads in its first week out.
This isn’t Clarkson’s first time at the rodeo. Her American Idol Season 1 victory song, “A Moment Like This,” jumped from No. 52 to No. 1 in a single week.
But she was trumped five different times, most recently by Britney Spears’s “Womanizer,” which jumped from No. 96 to No. 1 last year.
The song is off Clarkson’s album All I Ever Wanted, due in stores March 17. |
