Talking

I produce Hip-hop and various forms of Techno, from Dance to Ambient. I've been producing for quite a few years, and now I have over 5000$ sunk into a home studio setup, running Behringer mixer, keyboard and control surface, Behringer B-1 condenser mic, Alesis near-field monitors, Dell laptop with second screen for the "brains". I run Sonar, FL XXL, and Reason primarily for DAWs, and use Sound Forge for any editing needs. I also play guitar and have a Takamine acoustic and Washburn Mercury Series II 4-string bass plus a Tubeworks amp.

I'm putting a whole production company together right now from the ground up, have two other artists on the payroll and a track featuring an artist out of Philly going on low-band (AM, College) and Sattelite radio stations starting early June via a deal with a Canadian label.

Wow man. You've got the freakin God-setup. That's my dream, to have a recording studio/jam room fix, something like that.

Where are you at?

I have been playing guitar for about 4 years now but not regularly enough to be 4 years quality.

I just enjoy picking it up a couple of times a week and messing around, I have the basic skills down and know a fair bit of theory, but I'm just not a tight player at all. If I got a proper practice regime together, I would probably be good enough to start thinking about joining a band after a couple of months.

But.....I can't see that happening any time in the near future.

I've been a guitarist over 11 years, singer over 19 years, keyboard mockupist for 3 years, congos for one day, drumpads for 4 years.

I'm building a home studio, and I'd really wish I could tweak my 3month old BX5as to produce a more accurate bass frequency response (sighs)
