Default Rep Points and Rep Power?

A question. I see the site uses a point system to reward posters for contributing to the site. Thats cool and is the first time I've seen such or paid attention! I think it's a grand idea to keep the website alive with fresh content.
Being a..... I hate to say.....noob How de 'ell do it werk mohn?
I get the jist of it but I just lost points? Punishment? I did the add to reputation thing. When you do that does it give away your own points?
To many answers I'm trying to find questions for,

I did and am still confused. Is it like water pressure explained to me by a submariner? PSI increases geometrically based upon depth. A good conversation ensued.

When you give points they aren't taken from you.

Your rep power is figured with a secret formula.

For more read here it may help some.

Default What is the Formula??

I Realise that as indicated, that this maybe a Secret. ie. Don't want to indicate incase the system is manipulated
However as a fan of posting many pictures at once, and realise that if I had posted the Pics individually Or in pairs that this may increase/ get me closer to having Rep Power.

I suppose my question is..........Does this Magical Equation take into account the number of pictures I post within my post??

Really I would like to show my gratification to my fellow peers on some of their outstanding Efforts. At the moment where I have used my Rep Power it has had Nil effect, as I am a power weakling at the moment.

- Any Chance you can reset the number of times I have done this(given that there was no point really) so that when I do get some I can go back and Give Credit where I feel its Due?
I am quite happy to publicly announce myself as a complete moron for doing this if it helps sway your decision.

I think it is a secret, so no one will be giving too many hints, but I don't think splitting posts that should be together would be a good thing. I think it should go up soon, just comment on what you like or have something to say about, and contribute however you can.

There is a magical formula that uses number of posts vs time registered on site vs personal rep power vs number of spanners in a toolbox. And for the record, even the Mods don't know (or understand) the formula.

And as for posting pics, regardless of whether you post a single pic per post, or all pics in a post, when a mod merges your pics, yer post count will be adjusted appropriately.

So long story short, keep contributing to the site, and everything will fall into place.

And it's not about accumulating rep points either. It's about being part of community, and being recognised for your contributions.

Cheers Bro,

First thing that went though my mind when I posted was the Add comments response..............which is spot on, bit more personal and adds to the friendliness that this site projects. - My Hat goes off to yourself, the runners and regular users of this site for making New Users feel more than welcome! I for one will be enjoying and contributing to this site regularily. :

Totally agree with your splitting of Posts comment, have no intention of doing so deliberately in a quest to Boost Rep, Am firmly of the ethos that sharing quality banter and pics is more important.
The comment was uncalled for really - just a means of encouraging an answer to the Picture Posts Question (which would be interesting to find out, if the Mods are prepared to disclose).

Was in a bit of a whiney Mood, because I must have pushed the Rep button about 20 times before I realised what was going on. I'm sure the feeling of being a complete Knob will wear off after a few more posts.

Take it easy Bro, and cheers for the response - appreciated.

Cheers Monkey - Thanks For the clarity.

Reply below in response to Rockyhors. You beat me to it.

Thanks Again guys....................Feel a group Hug coming on.

When a Person's Rep Power increases does that as a consequence increase the Rep points you have applied to posts in the past??

No underlying reason for the Question, just curious.
(Figure my previous attemps of adding rep to posts may not have been in Vain afterall.)

I've got my book of "1001 Questions to post in the Newsgab.com Forum to piss of mods" beside me, So I am here all night.
