Default Naming Posts & Search Improvement.

Hey Guys,

Combination of things to suggest here so please bear with me.

Naming Posts - What are the Rules?
Any chance we can have some rules Or something in the FAQ's indicating what constitutes sound naming. (might be something already, I couldn't find any site rules).
Realise I have made a Few naming errors in my earlier posts. However could do with some clarity on Naming Various Pics Posts.

Search & Name Improvement -
Bearing in mind that you want searching to be efficient and not too complicated.

May I suggest for Various Picture Posts that the ladies' names be used as the title along with "- Various" And that searches can be made on individual Titles within the Post if looking for something in particular. (Not sure if the search works like this already?)
Please see latest Tanmin Sursok post for an example.
http://www.newsgab.com/forum/celebrity-pictures/42854-tanmin-sursok-combo-post-various-bikini-shots.html

The thought is that where Threads of particular Hotties (celebs) are not too long, Members should be encouraged to keep posts within the original Posting of that Celeb. (In Fact you could do this for all Celebs).

If threads have Length restrictions (perhaps for thread Opening time and server restrictions - not entirely sure how this works) When the Thread Reaches a Particular length - lets say 5 Pages, A Mod Or Administrator could Move those Pages to a New Thread, Which is entitled the same with "previous Posts" preceding it.
Example - Tasmin Sursok - Various Pictures previous posts.
The original Thread remains intact and people continue to Post, and members still have the benefit of Viewing old Posts.

As 95% of the time members will be typing in the name of the Celeb when searching, they should find the correct thread each time. Thread searches can be made for particular pictures.

Realise that there maybe complications with this and maybe something that has already been thunk about,

Hope this makes sense - Clarity on Naming posts would be useful for now.

Take it easy

Boris

On looking at a thread just now, there is a function to seach a Within a Thread already.

Could encourage members to post all posts to Particular Celeb Names. ie. One thread for each Celeb. New Pictures Will always appear on the First Page.

Am sure there is a reason that it is not set up like this, thought that I would put this in the Box though.

The way we would like people to name threads is the name of the celeb and then make a description that paints a visual picture of what is in the pictures. And it's works best to not make a various thread. It makes searching easier. Saves having to look through 5 pages to make sure a picture hasn't been posted already.

Like say you have Paris Hilton (why not everyone else has )in Green Bikini. If you search for "Paris Hilton" Green Bikini you only have to look at 2 threads to make sure you aren't duping pictures. If she was in one thread you would get 4 pages to go through.

Cheers Buddy, This makes perfect sense. On looking over past Threads a bit more carefully, I now understand the importantce of Naming Threads Wisely.
Previously I had been searching every thread to make sure I was not re-posting, so understand the Frustrations that this will overcome.

I love the informality of the Rules in the FAQ's as it adds to the friendliness and openess of this site. Any chance we can add the "Naming of Posts" into the FAQ's section.

Would you recommend for Celebs Where I have alot of Pics to post, I should be Filing them into appropriate Categories? ie. Dividing them into Separate Threads.
Or do you mind If I add them all to the Same Thread with Sub Headings?

It works out best to make seperate threads.

I'm sure there will be something about naming threads added.

Yes, otherwise you get random people who kinda creates a thread inside another thread
