If you mean to download no. To talk it could go in Free for all. If enough intrest is shown then it might get it's own section.

Not to download? I can see copyright issues, but I'm at other sites that allow music DLs and nothing is said of it.

Any kind of downloading of music for free is not legal and should not be allowed. Back on CS I requested a song through the free for all forum and one of the members found it and e-mailed it to me. There have been many sites being sued for allowing copyrighted material to be shared among people and that is exactly what would be happening if we did this.

Now I could see if we set up a music section like the vids section where you could maybe post youtube videos or something. Or we could have a forum section where people could specifically request songs and if anyone had them they could trade e-mails or something.

Don't ask me why video segments are allowed to be shared evne though they are copyrighted as well but music is not. I blame it on greedy corporations and artists. Weird Al sings the truth about this in his song "Don't Download this Song".

If we did trade them through rapidshare or something I doubt we would get in trouble unless we were sharing a lot of music but I wouldn't take the chance. I was on youtube and they are removing audio from fan made videos because they are using copyrighted songs without approval. Some of my friends DBZ and Zelda music videos have had the audio removed from them. I read somewhere that Youtube was ordered to watch for copyright infringements or they would be liable to a lawsuit.

My vote is no just because it isn't worth the risk. I would say we could set up a music section where people could talk about nothing but music and within that section they could request songs and if someone did want to give them to them they could share it privately through e-mail or the pm system using rapidshare and such.

I was just thinking about like its own section, again. Not to download or anything just to talk about it. I know you said just do it in FFA, but there's sections for gaming and movies by themselves. I also realize that there's normally more to talk about in both of those, but still. I don't know.

i dont think chief would have a problem with a section dedicated to music.....only to talk about though...ie:what good music have u heard?...what about jessica simpson's ass?...is it to biggg?....that sorta thing.....as far as downloads go.....prolly not gunna happen guy's......it is illegal.....but maybe with chief's discretion maybe linkage's to said sites like you-tube etc.....for viewing music.....but that's my 2-cent's......give chief a pm about the "music" section and a link back to this thread so he can see it.....and see what he has to say!
