saving a picture

Hello...the other day I saw a picture of Salma Hayek that I really liked and I tried to save it to my computer, but when I did, the file came as a BMP file instead of a JPG. I tried several ither photos to see if the same thing would happen and it did. Can anyone explain this to me?

where is the pic and I'll see if it does it to my computer

If you using IE as your browser, it can sometimes happen when the image filters get screwed up and it reverts back to it's default Bmp format. The only way round this is to close your browser, wait about 30 secs to clear the buffer and then launch your browser again.

It using seems to happen for me if what ever reason the pictures takes too long to load. And how Ace said to fix it works. Sometimes you need to clear your cache also.

I rarely if ever get BMP images, and yes clearing thr cache does help. These pics shouldn't be BMP; BMP is huge.
