Lack of snaps may cost Quinn millions

Not only is Cleveland quarterback Brady Quinn disappointed with his playing status, but the former first-round pick could lose millions if he doesn't play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers.

According to Quinn's contract, he needs to play 70 percent of Cleveland's offensive snaps this year to earn two bonuses worth a combined $10.95 million. Quinn played 2˝ games (10 quarters) this season before being benched in favor of Derek Anderson.

Depending on the amount of offensive snaps the Browns take this weekend, Quinn could fall under the 70-percent threshold by sitting on the sidelines Sunday against the Packers. Quinn would miss a $5 million bonus this year without the playing-time incentive and $5.95 million in 2010.

Quinn was on pace to earn those large bonuses when he won Cleveland's starting quarterback job in the preseason, but he threw for just 400 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in three regular-season starts. The Browns were 0-3 in that span before turning to Anderson, who statistically hasn't done much better but led Cleveland (1-5) to its only win against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5.

It is unknown if either quarterback will be leading the Browns in 2010. ESPN.com reported recently that Quinn put his house for sale in the Cleveland area, further sparking speculation about his future with the Browns after this season.
