Question Anybody know how to create GIFs with Photoshop?

I have 3 pics (small ones as if for avatars) and I want to gif between them. How do I use Photoshop to do that? I know you can. I just got photoshop, so I tried the help menu with no luck, so if someone knows and can write down the steps, that would be great.

Final update: I Downloaded Microsoft gif Animator (MGA) (which was free). Then I used Photoshop (PS) to convert jpgs to gifs and used those converted gifs to make my avatar using MGA. It worked well. I'll have to play around and figure out PS's OTHER functions. (Good luck on that.)

For what it's worth, in GIMP, you put each image on a new layer, then export to a .GIF. Maybe PS has something similar?

to my knowledge, i dont think PS has that feature. you can make your own GIFs, but you'll need a separate program to combine them into an animated GIF

Macromedia Fireworks tends to be the best app in my experience for this kind of stuff

In the latest version of Photoshop (Extended only) you really can do this.
Create a new image, the size you wish to have your animation. Paste in the pictures as separate layers. Open the Animation palette (the Window menu). Create as many frames as you like (there's a small button for this that you will surely recognize). Going through each frame, select the hide and unhide layers to make each frame display a new picture, and be sure to select the duration you want for each frame (the drop down menu under the frame picture). Also, select "forever" instead of "once" from the looping options menu.
To save your animation, choose Save for Web and Devices from the file menu (or press Option-Shift-Command-S, or whatever it is on Windows). Pick the options you want, and save.
If you want a more advanced animation, with images blending into each, this is also possible. Try the Tween option, and pick a number of frames, or try the timeline mode.

Image Ready is actually not bundled with the latest version of Photoshop, but if you're running and older version, this would be what you'd use (I don't have it installed so I can't help).

I used Microsoft gif for my sig. It was free and is much easier. Thanks for the info though. I'll have to try that out.
