Default Imageshack hacked

If you have seen it on a forum yet you probable will. Image shack seems to have been hacked and lots of users uploads changed to the attached picture. I'm sure more then a few forums are wishing they didn't allowed hotlinking.

What a load of mindless dribble!!!!

They are "encouraging" security industries to NOT tell anyone about exploits and security holes in software. What they don't say is how they want these holes to be fixed and how they want the industry to be "reformed".

So using their logic, if 1,000 people are tested (and cleared) for a terminal illness, and it turns out the testing procedure was flawed, they wouldn't want the patients to be told about the problem (and potentially save lives). Instead, they want the problem to be fixed in secret, then end up telling the patient at their next visit they actually have the terminal illness (if they ven tell tham at all). Way to go fools.

This is what annoys me about these so-called "do-gooders". They highlight the problems in a system and make noise to force others to fix the problem. Meanwhile, they have the skills and the ability to fix the problem, but they choose to feed their egos rather than help the greater good.

I say these people should be targetted, shutdown, shown how their "logic" really works... on them!

I kinda sorta agree with what they say but not at all how they did it. I think holes should be outed to people that can should do something about it, but not just post it out for everyone. Hackers should have to do some work to break in.

I don' see how they think they won anyone over deleting there photos. For every 1 person that think it was great 100 more would like to kill them. You know somewhere there are some that just lost their only copy of great great grandma Ester because they lost the original.

But they don't want to tell anyone that the hole exists, let alone share details on how it can be exploited. Their narrow minded views want to actually restrict the ability to generate fixes for these holes, rather than make things safer.

Nothing good ever comes out of these kinds of acts. Nothing will change, in fact thing typically are worse as a result it (e.g. people not sharing images anymore).

we might be better off using something like divshare or yousendit, but something with alot more bandwidth, because they provide you with and encourage the proliferation of hotlink urls
