Querrydosdevice failed.
This is the error message that appears, and it also appears when I play games which I used to play before I changed my video card. This error didn't appear than, so using an image instead of a dvd might not be the problem.
Another thing: the program only closes himself 25% of the time, the rest in continues to run, and if I select it from the taskbar, the program window opens but I can't see anything, just a black or grey screen. If I wait a while before selecting it, it runs, I can see normaly, but there are lags.
Got a clue?
When you got the new video card did you uninstall the drivers for the old video card?
Did anything else change on your computer prior to when you started getting these error messages, like new software, new peripherals, or anything else?
No, I don't remember uninstalling them.
Also, it may be the overheating as it is summer, and the damn card doesn't have a cooler, there is only one and it's not a part of it.
If it just the one game the game is hosed. If it does it with other take the new card and try the old one again. What are the specs of the system? Operating system memory cpu etc.
"Also it says "insuficient system resources for completing the operation", "
If it didn't appear with the old card, this may be referring to system bus resources. Much like USB ports, your motherboard only allocates a specified amount of power to the GPU. Try looking at your BIOS on startup, and check to see if the correct interface is selected. (ie. PCIEx8, PCIEx16, AGP 4x, AGP 8x - it all depends on your mobo)
Could use more details, it could be from any number of issues, evidenced by the variety of anwers you got.
I will try to look at bios.
I don't really know what to change, though, as I don't know much about those things.
And is sounds awfully complicated with those series and numbers which mean nothing to me.
Thanks for your help, you're great, if you think about something else, please add.
It should be listed under one of the tabs on the BIOS screen. Without actually seeing it, I would be cautious to tell which one to look at.
Ok, I googled it and may have an answer with some meat to it. Depending on which version of Windows you are running (if at all) it could just be the simple answer of not enough RAM. The card your running has 512Mb of RAM, however, due to physical address restrictions there isn't enough free RAM to execute the game because it is being used by other devices and process.
Again, I could use more info and will help as much as I can. Right now, I would suggest checking Power unit to make sure it has enough umph, checking interface on mobo, and upgrading amount of RAM. Those three steps should solve any hardware issues are having.
