You will be pleased to learn, but I expect you have already seen it by now, the forum is subscribed to by people from a great many countries, and given that the language of the forum is English, you should feel in good company.

Practice your english by all means, the forum encourages all to take part and not to sit in the dark observing.

You will need to aquaint yourself the the various rules and guides scatterd about which will help you post and save some subsequent frustration.

There might appear to be a lot of rules at first glance, but bear in mind they have been produced from a lot of experience and serve us well.

You can open a thread in the "Free For All" forum on pretty much any subject that you'd like to talk about or discuss that doesn't fit better in one of the other more specific forums (ie. politics, movies, tech stuff, etc...)...for instance, you could open a thread like "Anyone else having a lousy day?" or "You won't believe what my kid did today!", etc...and discuss your day back and for with anyone that wanted to reply

Beyond that...nope...there's not a specific "chat" thread that's set aside and designated...like you might have seen at some of the other boards out there.

I don't know if the possibility has been discussed here or not...Chief is always open to listening to suggestions though
