    Default And We're back

OK guys, we're back and we're now running on the latest (and hopefully more secure) versions of the software we use to run Newsgab.com

Unfortunately, the old sites theme (the thing powering the look of the site) was not fully compatible with the new version of Vbulletin software so in the interest of having a functional and secure site, I've gone for the default theme until I can find something better.

On first inspection, the new version of Vbulletin looks pretty cool (auto save, easier attachment options etc), however as always, I'll look to you, our great community members to let me know if something doesn't quite look right!

    All the best

    Chief

Thanks for the very rapid fix Chief! :thumbsup

I just post what looks interesting as I'm wandering around the 'net. Credit always to the original scanner(s), capper(s), and or poster(s) of the content that I might put up here

Mate, what browser are you using? The ability to close it is based on member group permissions. Can another mod verify please?

    Cheers

I can close the sidebar or open it, at will, but if I close it and then navigate to another thread or another forum, it is open again :what:

I don't know if this is abnormal or normal behavior because I've never really messed with it :-S

Now that's what I'm talking about! I was able to upload 120 pics in a single post without having to worry about lag and high CPU load... just like the old times. And I'm glad the live search engine window has disappeared - it was really annoying, because it was always deleting my search phrase when it loaded after a few seconds.

PS. Browsing and publishing posts is also much faster than before.

Glad to hear mate, did you select the paper clip icon to manage your attachments too? Seems to work much better

Just checked a few things out.

    1. The new version of the software seems to have changed the way TapaTalk handles attachments and now it opens them in Safari, which means you have to be logged in there as well to see them.
    2. The Celebrity Pictures not safe for work forum link just redirects to the forum home page, I can access it through TapaTalk though. I went through and checked all the sub-forums and as far as I can tell, this is the only one that does it.

It appears that when using Tapatalk, any pictures posted appear as attachments instead of thumbnails like before. Is this something that I need to change in my settings?
