did his wallet fall on the gas pedal?
Sounds like he was pretty lucky.. Still can't quite work out what happened from this though :what:World number one golfer Tiger Woods has been released from hospital after receiving treatment following a car accident in Florida on Friday.
Initial reports said he had been seriously injured, but Woods's website later said he was "admitted, treated and released in good condition".
Woods's car reportedly hit a fire hydrant and tree as he left his drive at 0225 local time (0725 GMT).
The 14-time major champion is thought to have received facial injuries.
The 33-year-old's wife Elin told police she used a golf club to smash out the back window of the car after hearing the crash from the house, local Windermere police chief Daniel Saylor told the Associated Press news agency.
Aerial footage shows the tree it is believed was struck in the accident
Saylor says his officers, who found Woods lying in the street drifting in and out of consciousness, do not believe alcohol was involved.
An inquiry into the crash is under way, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Woods owns a property in the suburb of Isleworth, an exclusive area near Orlando. The accident report was not released until nearly 12 hours after Woods was injured, and BBC Golf correspondent Ian Carter says the golf world was in shock as news of the accident emerged.

Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren -- according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident.
Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol -- that should happen this afternoon. But we're told Tiger had a conversation Friday -- with a non-law enforcement type -- detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant.
We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.
Tiger WoodsWe're told Woods became "distracted," thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.
We're also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.

Tiger Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, changed the story she told the first officer on the scene, according to law enforcement sources.
The Windemere Police Department says Tiger's wife went outside, saw that her husband had struck a fire hydrant and a tree, and then went back inside the house for a golf club to use to try and extricate him from the vehicle. But we've learned Nordegren told a very different story to the Florida Highway Patrol, and it does not involve going back in the house for a club. Our sources will not allow us to be more specific.
And we've learned there was no blood found on the steering wheel of Tiger's SUV -- putting into serious doubt that Tiger sustained his injuries from the crash.
As we first reported, Tiger had a conversation with a friend yesterday, in which he said his wife had confronted him over reports he was involved with another woman ... and that his wife scratched his face up during the argument. Tiger told the friend he then left the house, started driving off and his wife then came out with a golf club, striking the vehicle. Tiger then became distracted and hit the hydrant and then a nearby tree.
We're told cops will interview Tiger and his wife later today.
UPDATE: A neighbor tells TMZ they saw cops show up at Tiger's house this morning -- only to get turned away again. Tiger's wife, Elin, was spotted (below) driving out of the Isleworth subdivision in Windermere earlier today.
UPDATE 3:05 PM ET -- We're told cops are back at Tiger's house. Let's see if they actually get in the front door this time.
UPDATE 5:00 PM ET -- The FHP says they were turned away again -- that Tiger and his wife were not available to be interviewed by troopers. They are going to try again tomorrow.
It looks like Tiger Woods has been boxed into a corner and his best friend, now, is time -- because he's again refused to meet with the Florida Highway Patrol about the incident with his wife early yesterday. Tiger may well be waiting for the telltale wounds to heal.
Woods' agent told the Florida Highway Patrol Tiger and wife Elin Nordegren would not make themselves available to speak with authorities today about the incident that left Tiger with lacerations and one less fire hydrant on his block.
We know the Highway Patrol is suspicious of the wife's account ... that Tiger just drove off and hit a fire hydrant. She told the first officer on the scene from the Windemere PD that she went inside the house after the crash to get a golf club and then hit the car in an attempt to free her husband. But we know she told a very different story subsequently to the Highway Patrol.
As we first reported, Tiger told a friend that his wife went ballistic at around 2:00 AM yesterday and scratched his face up -- all because of reports he allegedly had cheated on her. He left the house, started driving away and she attacked the SUV with a golf club, Tiger told the friend. He got "distracted" and hit the hydrant.
If Tiger and his wife acknowledge she scratched him up, she could be arrested for domestic abuse. And, as we first reported, Tiger told his friend he had been taking prescription painkillers and that was why he seemed out of it after the crash. Although we're told there was no alcohol involved (and that seems to be the case), driving under the influence of painkillers could be a problem, if it's provable.
By the way ... one of the things the Highway Patrol wants to see is the marks on Tiger's face, and whether they are consistent with scratch marks or impact on a car. As we reported, there was no blood on the steering wheel, making the accident scenario suspicious. But if the marks indicate a human touch and they last for a few days, we're guessing Tiger will not show up at his golf tourney on Thursday.
think of the beating she would give him if he talks
I wonder if she actually connected with that golf club a time or two?
Seems like that might explain Tiger's "confused" state a little more logically than "I'm taking pain meds"....afterall why would he admit to operating a vehicle under the influence after being in an accident...especially since FHP didn't do a blood test?
He's trying to cover for her to keep her from facing assault and domestic abuse charges, and from having this blow up even more in the media
I just post what looks interesting as I'm wandering around the 'net. Credit always to the original scanner(s), capper(s), and or poster(s) of the content that I might put up here
he is to talk to the police today at 3 pm. He better say what she want or she might use that club to drive his little black balls down the fairway.

Tiger Woods had a "Kobe Special" on his brain hours after what looks like a domestic dispute with his wife, Elin Nordegren -- this according to someone who spoke with Tiger on Friday.
During the phone conversation on Friday, Tiger told his friend, "I have to run to Zales to get a 'Kobe Special.'" The person on the other end of the phone asked Tiger what a "Kobe Special" was. The reply -- "A house on a finger."
During the conversation, Tiger said his wife had "gone ghetto" on him.
As we first reported, Tiger told the friend his wife had scratched his face up during an argument over a report that the golf great had cheated on her. The "other woman" named in the story -- Rachel Uchitel -- calls the report "bulls**t."
Tiger WoodsOf course, the Kobe reference is the now-famous house/ring he gave his wife Vanessa after the whole Colorado thing. We're assuming Tiger was joking, though he can certainly afford it.
Tiger's Alleged Mistress Hitches Ride with Allred
Posted Nov 29th 2009 2:00PM by TMZ Staff
Taxi? Limo? Sedan? Nope -- Tiger Woods' alleged mistress took the Gloria Allred Express from LAX this afternoon.
Rachel Uchitel landed in Los Angeles and got bombarded with questions from paps. We got the silent treatment from her again -- but then Gloria swooped in to save the day ... with a hug.
Gloria kept her comments brief, saying, "At some point we'll decided what the next step should be."
Allred also said she won't be holding one of her famous press conferences in the coming days. We'll see about that.
The 911 caller, a male, can be heard telling dispatchers, "I need an ambulance immediately, I have someone down outside my house ... It's a car accident ... My neighbor, he hit the tree. I see him and he's laying down."
When the dispatcher asked if the person was unconscious, the neighbor responded, "Yes."
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Tiger Woods has canceled yet another meeting with the Florida Highway Patrol.
We're told Tiger's lawyer canceled the meeting the FHP had wanted for 3:00 PM ET today. The lawyer gave no reason for the cancellation.
One of the things authorities want to see -- the wounds on Tiger's face ... whether they were caused by the accident or during a domestic dispute with his wife.
Tiger Woods announced his withdrawal from this week’s Chevron World Challenge, the tournament he has hosted since its move to the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif., in 2000. In a statement on his Web site on Monday, Woods, 33, did not cite his injuries from Friday’s one-car accident in front of his home near Orlando, Fla., as the cause for the withdrawal.
“I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week,” Woods said in the statement. “I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I’m very sorry that I can’t be there.”
Woods crashed his 2009 Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant and a neighbor’s tree early Friday as he was pulling out of his driveway in the gated community of Isleworth, an Orlando suburb where many high-profile athletes live. He sustained cuts to his upper and lower lips and was left unconscious for some time, according to an incident report. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was treated and released in good condition.
Woods, whose Tiger Woods Foundation is the main charitable beneficiary of the Chevron tournament — which he has won four times — did not play in last December’s event while recuperating from knee surgery. He did spend the week mingling with sponsors at Sherwood in his role as the host.
Woods’s Web site said he would play no other events this year. In the four years before missing this season’s Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course, Woods started his United States schedule there, winning four straight at the La Jolla, Calif., municipal course. The 2010 event, named the Century Club of San Diego Invitational since the loss of Buick as a PGA Tour sponsor, will be played from Jan. 28 to Jan. 31.
“We support Tiger’s decision and are confident the strong field and excellent course will provide an exciting week of competition at the Chevron World Challenge,” said Greg McLaughlin, the president and chief executive of the Tiger Woods Foundation.

Sources tell TMZ the Florida Highway Patrol is now focusing on obtaining a search warrant -- allowing them to seize medical records from the hospital that treated Tiger Woods -- in an attempt to determine if the wounds Woods sustained are consistent with a car accident or domestic violence.
We're told authorities believe they can show probable cause a crime was committed, a necessary step in obtaining a warrant.
One big piece of evidence showing probable cause ... sources tell us Tiger's wife, Elin Nordegren told FHP troopers she went looking for Tiger in a golf cart, came upon the accident and then used a golf club to break the window to gain entry. That's a very different story from what she first told Windemere cops shortly after the accident -- she never mentioned a golf cart. Nordegren told Windemere police she had walked out of her house, saw the crash, went back inside to get a golf club and returned to the vehicle.
TMZ has reviewed 21 photos from the scene -- no sign of any golf cart. But we just found another photo (below) from the scene, where you can see a golf cart in the foreground.
And there's more ... although alcohol was not involved, Tiger was in and out of consciousness and TMZ has already reported Tiger told a friend he was taking prescription meds for pain, which could be evidence of DUI. This, too, could constitute probable cause to obtain a warrant.
We're told the FHP is pursuing the search warrant option after getting shut down again Sunday in an attempt to interview Tiger and Elin and eyeball Tiger's wounds.
As we first reported, according to sources, Tiger told a friend Elin had attacked him after she confronted him with reported allegations he had cheated on her. We're told Tiger told the friend Elin then followed him out of the house and struck the moving vehicle with the golf club, causing him to get distracted and hit the hydrant.
If the FHP determines Elin attacked Tiger, we're told she could be arrested for domestic violence.
