    Default Firefox 4.0.1

Does anybody know about why the new version of Firefox makes me log in every time I come here? And what is more aggravating than that is the extra pop up windows that end up locking up my browser.
It must be something to do with cookies but mine is set up so it already remembers cookies from Newsgab so I'm not sure what is wrong.

I don't really like it too much, but on one of my computers I have it.....but I am running it and have no issues.....I assume you have this checked? Sorry, I always go to the simple shit first.....

If you are dumping LSO's at the end of your FF session it will cause you to have to re-login each visit

I just post what looks interesting as I'm wandering around the 'net. Credit always to the original scanner(s), capper(s), and or poster(s) of the content that I might put up here

Using the 'faster' Firefox 4.0.1, but find it slower than before.

Have not noticed any changes with it here at Newsgab.

I installed 4 and kept it long enough to download 3.6.17 again.

Smart move, especially as some of my add-ons no longer work as not compat' with 4.0.1.

Here's some "helpful" things to try (instead of the usual "works for me" banter):

    - Empty all temporary internet files (including cookies) in Firefox
    - Remove all saved passwords for Newsgab site
    - Disable any Firefox addons you have installed
    - Rename prefs.js file in your windows profile. Then open firefox and try again.
    - If you upgraded from 3.6 to 4, the firefox profile may be corrupt. Backup your bookmarks and uninstall Firefox, delete the firefox profile folder from your windows profile, then re-install

Thanks guys for all your suggestions.
I uninstalled 4.0 and went back to 3.6 and now the problem seems to be over.
I have a feeling it was probably one or more of the add-ons. I tried uninstalling a couple of them but it didn't do anything.
4.0 seemed to actually be a little faster for me than 3.6 is but I guess I'll wait until they fix 4.0 before trying it again.

I'm gonna try and stay with 'Firefox 4.0.1', but I will revert - if I can, should it not get better.

Like Monkey's idea, might try that at a later date.

One thing I hate is not having the status bar at the bottom of the page. Firefox say it is gone forever. However, there is an add-on (Status-4-Evar 2011.04.06.18) which brings it back. The downside being I expect, that it might slow down the browser even more. Still, over 300K peeps have downloaded it so far.

For me hated the look but the nail in it's coffin was they moved the context menu around. 3.XX has open in new window then open in new tab. 4.xx has open in new tap then open in new window. So I'd have to remember which version I was using and in which order.

I use the new version and it seems perfectly fine, I never have any issues with it here or elsewhere. I've been on firefox for so long I don't remember what explorer looks like

I decided to bite the bullet.

    Downloaded Firefox 5.0.

    Great!
    Got the speed back.
    Much smoother.
Helps with my PC virus problem as it frustrtaes it, which is good 'cos the virus has been frustrating me for a while!
