Spain's 2010 FIFA World Cup win was second in the exclusive poll with James O'Connor's Bledisloe Cup heroics against New Zealand third.

Surprisingly, the St George Illawarra NRL title came in fourth, followed by Peter Siddle's Ashes hat-trick, Mark Webber's F1 breakthrough in Monaco and Rafael Nadal's career grand slam.

Now, we sink our teeth into 2011 and wait for the heroes and villians to reveal themselves.
